First there were peaches...
Then there was pasta sauce...
And now I've moved on to applesauce! (cinnamon top, regular bottom)
My, how things have changed. This is why I started re•solve. This is what it's all about. Learning and growing. Learning what lurks in food, knowing I need to change that. Learning how to change that, and actually doing it. Not to mention the satisfaction of doing it myself.
You know what stopped me before? My brain. Myself. The silly self-talk lies that say:
"it's too hard"
"it's too expensive"
"it will take too long"
There will be much more canning in the future. There will be many more surprises in the future as a result of me re•solving to overcome more of these silly lies. It's time to stop being a victim of circumstances and to start making choices that bring happiness- even if they scare me.
PS - I realized during canning that my bananas were a bit too mushy to enjoy. Old Bekah would have gotten annoyed at herself and thrown them out. Today, I sucked it up and made banana bread!
I'm right there with ya except for the Banana Bread. Doing more and relying less on others and things has been something I am working on as well. And I'm gonna have to get on this canning business.

That canning party sounds like a blast :) I have only canned peach jam before, but it wasn't too bad - and way healthier for you that stuff from the store I am sure! So glad you have embraced the canning :)
ReplyDeleteThat was good banana bread too!
